Stuart is a Truro local having practically grown up at the Truro Golf Club.  As a Junior member at the TGC Stuart learned the game of golf from his father Gary and then PGA of Canada Professional Rick Morley attending “Little Swingers” clinics and Junior Programs.

With early beginnings as “Range Picker”, “Power Cart Cleaner, and “Club Scrubber” in the Back Shop at the TGC, Stuart eventually began working the Professional Shop during summers home from University in West Palm Beach, FLA where he graduated with a BBA majoring in Accounting and Management.

Following graduation Stuart joined the PGA of Canada in 2010 and has been teaching lessons at the Truro Golf Club and in the community since 2011 as a PGA of Canada Certified Instructor.

With successful competitive golfing experience at the junior, amateur, collegiate and professional level, Stuart knows and understands the struggles that golfers go through at all levels of the game giving him a well rounded and broad teaching approach.

Brandan Van Tassel

PGA of Canada – Apprentice Professional

Truro Golf Club – Pro Shop Manager

Brandan joined our professional team in 2022. Brandan followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and uncle, both PGA of Canada Professionals, and has built his career around his passion for the game.

In addition to managing our Professional Shop, Brandan is an experienced Club Fitter traveling to golf courses all around Atlantic Canada to fit clients at their respective golf clubs.  His expertise recently earned him 4th place in COBRA Custom Sales in all of Canada for the TGC in 2024.

Whether you need help finding the perfect set of clubs, or are looking to improve your swing, Brandan is always ready to assist with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
