Andrew Noseworthy is a PGA of Canada Instructor that will be assisting us with our Junior Programs for the 2020 season.
Andrew is also offering Private Instruction and may be contacted.

Junior Membership Information & Programming

Junior Club Championship
Open to all junior members to compete in several age groups. 36 holes spread over two days and playing stroke play with net and gross prizes. This tournament is the most prestigious event in the schedule.

Future Links Skill Competition
Gives juniors an opportunity to test and showcase their golfing ability. Driving, iron play, chipping and putting skills help the junior golfer measure their ability in all aspects of the game.

Tournaments & Events
Junior Scrambles – These tournaments are available for all juniors of different levels them a chance to play with on another in fun but competitive atmosphere. The scramble format promotes participation from every player.
DQ Truro Junior Invitational – Open to junior golfers across the province, this tournament is a one-day stroke play event that showcases our course to the province. Please check the calendar of events for dates.

TGC Junior Golf Objectives…

  • To introduce golf to children.
  • To provide an atmosphere where juniors can learn the basics of golf, in a fun and enjoyable manner.
  • To teach juniors respect for the game, the golf course and their fellow members.
  • To provide a friendly atmosphere for competition to develop sportsmanship and a positive attitude towards the game of golf.
  • To provide a progressive instructional program to nurture their golf skills and attitude.
  • To encourage junior golfers, as they grow, to become active in the club and to continue on as Senior Members.
  • To develop junior golfers that compete at provincial and national levels.

Junior Restrictions

Young Swinger (ages 5-8)
Playing privileges for juniors in this category are as follows:

  • Monday/Tuesday/Friday- may play anytime after 6:00 pm.
  • Wednesday/Thursday- No Play.
  • Saturday/Sunday and holidays- anytime after 4:00 pm.

Juniors in this category MUST be accompanied by an ADULT at all times while at the facility.

Young Junior (ages 9-10)
Playing privileges for juniors in this category are as follows:

  • Monday/Tuesday/Friday- anytime of day.
  • Wednesday- Must tee off before 3:30 pm.
  • Thursday- Must tee off before 1:00pm Juniors may not play during Men’s Night.
  • Saturday/Sunday and holidays- anytime after 2:00 pm.

Regular Junior (ages 11-18)
Juniors in this category are permitted to play without an adult as follows:

  • Monday/Tuesday/Friday- anytime of day.
  • Wednesday- Must tee off before 3:30 pm.
  • Thursday- Must tee off before 1:00 pm Juniors may not play during Men’s Night.
  • Saturday/Sunday and holidays- anytime after 2:00 pm.

A junior in this age category is eligible to tee off between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm on Weekends/Holidays ONLY when accompanied by an adult playing partner.

The Truro Golf Club is not affiliated with Canadian Tire but would like to encourage anyone needing a financial boost to consider the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program designed to get kids involved in a sport, or another active program.
Follow the link below for full application details. Applications do need to be submitted prior to paying any fees are due, as the money goes right to the organization. Applications for assistance can typically be submitted from January 15 to November 1; with the goal for funding to be equitably distributed over Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter activities.
